Prevention
As EBSNA is not a diagnosis but is linked to how safe and supported students feel at school, a variety of approaches and interventions can be adopted school-wide to reduce its risk.
Schools can implement strategies to enhance emotional well-being, ensure inclusion, confidence, resilience, a sense of belonging, emotional literacy, and secure attachments. Building positive relationships and a sense of belonging with parents is key as they are our partners in ensuring every young person can attend school.
Ensuring the breadth of the educational offer and swift identification of underlying additional learning needs are vital in maintaining student engagement in school. The following sections offer guidance on whole school approaches and interventions to support these goals and foster an inclusive and positive school environment.
